Statement on diversity
The Black Diamond Philharmonic seeks to serve all Appalachians who love classical music, regardless of race, religion, creed, nationality, gender, or sexual orientation. We are further committed to actively seeking a diverse and inclusive orchestra, staff, and Board of Directors. We will also promote and perform music by composers from traditionally underrepresented communities. We are committed to building an inclusive 21st century orchestra.
Accessibility
The Black Diamond Philharmonic commits to making its website and concerts accessible to all people by meeting or exceeding the requirements of the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines 2.0 Level AA (WCAG 2.0 AA) and the Americans With Disabilities Act. We have only started the process, and much of our website does not yet meet the standards. We are working with appropriate experts to determine future actions to make our website fully compliant. Our Facebook page, available at https://www.facebook.com/BlackDiamondPhilharmonic, is in full compliance per Facebook policy. It contains all event-related information found on our website.
Our concerts, however, take place at venues that are fully compliant with the ADA. We hope our audience will enjoy can enjoy our performances worry-free.
